IIMCAA Connections 2017: Awards announced in various category, 62 'Campus Wale Teachers' felicitated

Annual Alumni Meet of IIMC Alumni Association - IFFCO Connections 2017, was flagged off at IIMC HQ, New Delhi, last Sunday. IFFCO Connections, which has started from the Capital will cover 11 states across the country before it brings down the curtain for this year’s Annual Meet in the city of joy, Kolkata on 23rd April.

IIMCAA Awards, a first of its kind initiative by the Alumni Association was announced during IFFCO Connections 2017 where the winners of the different categories received their awards from IIMC DG - K. G. Suresh, IIMC ADG - Mayank Agarwal, Jury Members Prof Jaishri Jethwaney, Anshu Gupta and Supriya Prasad. A team of 11 jury members decided upon the winners of the IIMCAA Awards. Awardees were presented a trophy and a certificate along with an award cheque. The prize money ranges from Rs. 21,000 to Rs. 51,000. The winners for the different categories include - Alok Gupta from Hongkong for Agriculture Reporting, Prabir Pradhan form Bhubaneswar for Investigative Reporting, T S Sudhir from Hyderabad for Political Reporting and Gautam Das from Delhi for Developmental Reporting. While Priyaranjan Jha, Anurag Srivastava and Farhan Khan, all from Delhi, and Ms. Moksha Srivastava from Bangalore bagged the prize for best Print Production, Broadcast Production, Advertising and Digital Production Awards, respectively. IIMCAA also felicitated 62 Teachers under its theme, 'Campus Wale Teachers' which was successfully carried out by the Convenor and Hansraj College Princial, Dr. Rama. All these alumni are presently serving in academics. Git Bamezai, Ashok Ogra, Pradeep Mallik, Rama, Manoj Dayal, Shambhu Nath Singh, Devlin Roy, Vartika Nanda, Pankaj Pushkar, Dev Vrat Singh, Sweta Singh, Amiya Mohan, Jyoti Prakash Mohapatra, Jaya Drona, Tanushree, Swadesh Singh, Rahul Kumar and Rajesh Kumar were some of the teachers who were felicitated during IFFCO Connections 2017 Alumni Meet.

In the last leg of the meet, 'Tenu Suit Suit Karda' and 'Fashion Kudiye' fame popular Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa enthralled the audience with his performance. He sung his latest release 'Taare' for the IIMC Alumni too which has crossed 2.7 million view on YouTube so far. Alumni also enjoyed the performance of DJ Sonya Khanna and DJ Avneet in this segment. IIMCAA President Suresh Kumar Vasishth declared to extend the boundaries of IIMCAA Awards and add more categories from next year. Principal Organizer Kalyan Ranjan welcomed the alumni while General Secretary Mihir Ranjan submitted the annual report and Treasurer Deeksha Saxena presented accounts report. The stage was moderated by Jaya Drona and Puja Mishra.
